On August 3rd, 2021 in Boston Guns N’ Roses performed a new song “Absurd” during their show.

Then on August 6th, 2021 the band released their studio version of the song.

“Absurd” is similar to a song, “Silkworms”, that GNR had worked on and abandoned for “Chinese Democracy”.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Axl introduced the song live by saying “Some of you might have heard this under another name, But this is really kind of absurd for us to try this. Wasn’t that funny? And they don’t even know the joke yet. Ok, this is called ‘Absurd.’”

There has been talk of new Guns N’ Roses music shortly after the band originally reformed for the “Not In This Lifetime Tour”.

Does the release of this song mean there is a new album on the way?

Your guess is as good as mine.
