I had the chance to do some bike riding and exploring along Salado creek recently. I’m sure this was a raging river last week with all the rain we had. This area was dry but I found several large pools full of frogs and minnows nearby. There is a lot of history involving this creek. The creek was given it’s name in 1716 by Spanish explorer Domingo Ramon. In 1842 the Battle of Salado Creek took place following the Texas Revolution. Today you can bike or hike along most of this historic creek. I noticed lots of wildlife in the area like deer, hawks and owls. I hope you get the chance to explore the creek soon. It’s a remarkable area that is easily accessible. Let me know if you have any questions about the area at steve.casanova@cmg.com
