Today, Governor Abbott issued and executive order that every person in Texas shall avoid social gatherings and groups of more than 10 people. Here’s more information on what is being restricted:
- No dining in restaurants and bars - FRIVE-THRU, PICK UPS, and DELIVERY ARE ALLOWED
- No using gyms
- No visiting Nursing Homes or Retirement Centers, or Long-Term Care Facilities, except to provide critical assistance
- All schools shall remain closed through April 3rd
THIS IS NOT A “SHELTER IN PLACE” ORDER. You can go to the grocery stores, gas stations, banks, parks, and all critical infrastructure will remain open.
- Domestic travel is unrestricted.
- Government entities and businesses will provide essential services, offices and workplaces may remain open, but should ask that only essential personnel come in, allowing others to work remotely.
- The more people do to reduce public contact, the sooner the COVID-19 disease will be contained, and the sooner the executive order will expire.
