The Bright Shawl Gallery, a space featured within the meeting space and restaurant owned by the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc., is currently featuring selections from The Royal Canvas Painting Parlor. The art will be on display at The Bright Shawl Gallery through January 12. The Royal Canvas Painting Parlor caters to artists of all ages, specializing in children’s art and art classes for both children and adults. The Bright Shawl Gallery show features approximately 100 pieces and primarily focuses on children’s art, but features pieces that will appeal to everyone and offers items perfect for holiday gifts. All of the display pieces are available for purchase, with prices ranging from $20 to $90. A League fundraiser since the 1920s, The Bright Shawl Gallery regularly exhibits and sells works from local artists, offering rotating shows throughout the year. The art may be viewed during The Bright Shawl’s lunch hours, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at 819 Augusta Street, near downtown San Antonio. The Bright Shawl offers free and convenient parking, making a visit to the Gallery a breeze. San Antonio’s premier women’s volunteer organization, the Junior League of San Antonio allows women to work together to build a better community through leadership and community service. Through volunteer work and grants to partner organizations, the Junior League benefits women, children and families city-wide. JLSA supports agencies and programs that work every day to meet the rising needs in our community, making it the non-profit that supports other non-profits to build a better San Antonio.
