An all-day family event, the Soldiers' Angels Ride (SoAR) will begin and end at the Javelina Harley Davidson in Boerne, Texas on Saturday, November 17. The riding portion starts at 10 a.m. and encompasses two hours on local hill-country roads. The post-ride party is family-friend and features band Whiskey Rodeo, a fundraising silent auction, food trucks, and a $1 raffle. In addition, Red Bull will be in attendance with their famous Mini Cooper and Red Bull Girls.
Soldiers' Angels Ride (SoAR) is the brainchild of a team of UTSA Small Group Communications Class students, with class member and Air Force veteran Vanessa Thomas serving as event chairman. Vanessa received support from Soldiers' Angels while deployed to Iraq and has returned the favor by volunteering at the Soldiers' Angels Support Center. When she suggested Soldiers' Angels as her team's charity when they were assigned the project of putting on a charity fundraiser, they all enthusiastically agreed after a visit to the Support Center. A fellow student's father is an avid motorcycle rider, and the idea of a charity ride was born. Cost for Ride Only! After party FREE!
