Winner of four Grammy Awards and dean of Latin Jazz, Chucho Valds is a titan of the keyboard whose style is breathtaking. In the Latin and jazz communities, Valds is revered as one of Cubas greatest jazz pianists. Bebop jazz meets Cuban dance rhythms in Valds sophisticated and listener-friendly music. Valds talents combined with those of the four members who comprise the Afro-Cuban Messengers are sure to dazzle. The Messengers perform with a technical brilliance that has no real equal but they undergird their work with the African percussive rituals that stand at the very root of jazz. The result is a stand-up set that will be one of ARTS SAs signature performances of the year.
